Blink-182
Getting the opportunity to work with any large band or brand is amazing, and this is especially true for Blink-182.
As a fan of the band I tried to come up with a variety of ideas that I felt fit the bands dark, yet playful merchandising.
My favourite concept - The Snare Drum - came from seeing Blink’s drummer Travis Barker, who has a tendency to bleed on his snare drum by hitting his thumbs on the edges throughout a concert. It’s something he has done for years and chooses to still play hard regardless.
I did a version of this design with custom letterings, but the brand manager opted to keep the brand strong with their current main Blink-182 lettering (made by Brandon Rike). The original version is below.
WARNING: A few images down there is a fairly graphic image of Travis’ thumbs worn down after a concert for reference.
