ILLUSTRATION

My illustration style is heavily shaped by my background in graphic design, drawing inspiration from block printing, vintage graphics, and classic tattoo art. I’m drawn to bold silhouettes, confident linework, and intentional use of negative space, all of which help create imagery that feels timeless yet striking. Illustration gives me the freedom to merge structure with creativity, allowing each piece to balance strong design fundamentals with expressive character and personality.

While much of my illustration work appears within larger projects such as t-shirt graphics, craft beer branding, and band merchandise, this collection highlights pieces that exist outside those categories. These illustrations weren’t created for a single client or product line, but instead represent standalone concepts, explorations, and commissioned work. I’ve done a significant amount of illustration within the disc golf industry as well, but the work shown here focuses on pieces not created specifically for Thought Space Athletics, which is featured separately in its own project section.

TREASURE ISLAND

I’ve worked with Edinburgh Contractor Ltd. for many years, originally developing their logo and brand identity. When a special project came up, they reached out to collaborate again. They had been commissioned to renovate the historic Edinburgh home where renowned author Robert Louis Stevenson was born. Stevenson is best known for classics such as Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886), Kidnapped (1893), and of course Treasure Island (1883). To commemorate the project, we created a custom t-shirt design for the crew to wear while working on the house, drawing visual inspiration from the adventurous spirit and imagery of Treasure Island.

HAUNTED ROOMS CO.

Haunted Rooms Co. hired me to develop their visual identity and branding, a company known for hosting immersive ghost-hunt experiences inside prestigious and historically significant buildings that are often difficult for the public to access. As part of that collaboration, I illustrated custom event t-shirts, including these designs created for events held at Belle Grove Plantation. Now operating as a bed and breakfast, the estate is also recognized as the birthplace of James Madison. Historical records note that notable figures such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Marquis de Lafayette are said to have stayed there as well. The artwork draws on the location’s layered history and eerie reputation, combining historical references with atmospheric illustration to create designs that feel both commemorative and mysterious.

BRACEBRIDGE

I originally created this illustration for the disc golf club I run here in Bracebridge. The concept was a larger-than-life moose standing in the bay near our iconic falls, capturing the natural beauty and wildlife that make this place so special. I also included the clock tower, one of Bracebridge’s other most recognizable landmarks, to really tie it to home.

Once the design was finished, I realized it represented Bracebridge so well that I adapted it into a wall wrap and truck wrap at my day design job, @sublimegraphics and soon, it’ll come full circle when it lands on custom discs for the club.
